Estudio del equilibrio y la marcha en un paciente con ataxia espinocerebelosa

In this article, the neurological rehabilitation process of a patient with spinocerebellar ataxia type 8 (SCA8) is monitored. The patient undergoes therapy from Monday to Friday for two hours in the morning shift. The patient is evaluated using the Tinetti Balance and Mobility Scale at the initial stage of receiving treatment and after three months of undergoing therapy five days a week. The results demonstrate the progress achieved by the patient, with both measurements taken under similar conditions. The patient managed to increase their initial score from 21 to 26 in the balance and gait sum. This improvement in self-sufficiency and quality of life is shown in this study.
