Challenges faced by new foreign students when entering the University

The transition process of foreign students to higher education is complex, which can affect both their academic performance and their life dynamics. Objective: Analyze the challenges faced by foreign students new to higher education. Method: The selection of documents was carried out based on an exhaustive search in recognized academic databases. Inclusion criteria: thematic relevance of documents related to the challenges of foreign students in higher education, geographical context and temporal relevance. Exclusion criteria: outdated, thematic irrelevance and lack of peer review. Results: The documentary analysis revealed the challenges faced by foreign students such as social isolation, language barriers, economic aspects, academic adaptation and insufficient support services. Conclusion: The challenges that students face are diverse, it is important that educational institutions offer student support and monitoring programs that can support foreign students
